Fiordland and Central Otago
‘Craggy peak after craggy peak enclosing snow-fed tumbling streams
Level river flats meandering in ribbons of icy water to immeasurably deep alpine lakes
Wind tossed tussock meadows enfolding softer landforms’
My name is Barbara
I am lucky enough to live in Queenstown, South Island, New Zealand.
Some of the pictures and paintings above are of the native beech forests that clothes the south-west corner of the South Island of New Zealand. Other images are cropped parts of my watercolour paintings.
I am blogging to reach a wider audience for my writing and also to see what all this blogging is about. Facebook defeats me every time I attempt to use it. I’m hoping blogging makes more sense and generates some interesting ‘conversations’.
I came late to the enjoyment of writing and particularly value a group of fellow writers. We meet every two weeks to exchange stories, news of competitions and to support each other in the joy of creativity. We challenge each other to write short pieces on very different topics and some of the stories I have written appear under ‘Home and other stories’. Let me know if you enjoy them.
